You don't need experience. You don't need your own guitar. You just need to show up.
Town Center Music has been teaching first-time players in Suwanee, Sugar Hill, Buford, Duluth, and Johns Creek for over 13 years. Whether you're a kid picking up a guitar for the first time or an adult who's always wanted to learn, our instructors will meet you exactly where you are.
Not sure which is right for you? Our instructors can help you choose based on the music you love.
Patient, encouraging, and structured — our instructors know how to make learning fun for younger students. We'll keep them engaged and build real skills from day one.
It's never too late to start. Adult beginners make up a big part of our student roster, and our instructors won't make you feel behind. You'll be playing songs you actually like, faster than you'd expect.
No boring method books unless you want them. Tell your instructor what music you love, and they'll build your curriculum around that. Learning the songs you love beats scales-for-the-sake-of-scales every time.
Online video courses can't watch your fingers. They can't tell you your thumb position is wrong, or encourage you when you finally nail a chord transition. A real teacher makes a real difference — especially in the beginning.
Come as you are. We'll help you figure out what gear makes sense once you start playing.
Manage everything through the TeacherZone app on your phone or computer.

Zac Armgard

While attending the prestigious Berklee College of Music in Boston, Zac earned his Bachelor degree in composition. Since then he has worked on numerous recordings with musicians around the world. Currently you can find him playing in his cover bands throughout Georgia. How he would describe his guitar playing would be "fast and loud!" Although his main love in music is heavy metal, Zac's guitar lessons can be applied to any style of music the student likes. Many of his students have enrolled in top music schools and because of Zac's decades of experience, he knows efficient practice habits and routines to make one a progress as a musician.
Corbin King
In-person or online!
I am a guitarist of 34 years and I have been involved with music my entire life. I began teaching at Town Center Music in 2003 and have helped thousands of students achieve their goals during that time. I teach both guitar and bass but I specialize in advanced lead guitar and composition. I can help anyone, at any age, from a first day beginner to a seasoned veteran looking for some new inspiration or ideas.
Aside from being an instructor at TCM, I am most commonly known in the music biz for my heavy metal band VAINGLORY, which I am the guitarist, songwriter and producer. I am also the lead guitarist for the rap/hip-hop phenom RITTZ. The combination of these two acts and the extremely high level exposure of the RITTZ material has led my guitar playing to be heard worldwide and through all major music outlets like YouTube, Spotify, Apple Music, Pandora, etc. for a total of over 40 MILLION plays/streams.
Whether you are looking to become the next guitar hero or just want to play for fun and learn some songs, I can help you!
Jonathan Zalzman
In-person or online!
Jonathan Zalzman began playing guitar at age 13 after seeing Buckethead performing at the Masquerade in Atlanta, GA. Ever since, Jonathan has pursued finding his own unique style and voice through the guitar, fueled by a love of shred guitar, funk, jazz-fusion, progressive rock, and heavy metal. He has taught guitar, bass, and ukulele for over 5 years and hopes to spread the spark of inspiration that began his musical journey to others through teaching. Jonathan has performed in the Atlanta area for over a decade with various projects and artists. He is currently the leader of Jamtronica project Free Hat, as well as lead guitarist for Phish-Tribute Cadillac Rainbows, and regularly appears with Atlanta jam collective BadAsh Allstar Team.
Greg Shivers
In-person or online!
Greg holds a Bachelor's degree from Berry College and a Master's degree from University of Georgia, both in guitar performance. As a performer, he has played for a variety of settings, including the prestigious Christopher Parkening Masterclass in Bozeman, Montana. As a teacher, Greg has been a staple at the Town Center Music Rock Camps, founded his own student guitar ensemble, has been a featured clinician at local school guitar programs, and a section leader at Young Harris College and Reinhardt University guitar festivals. Greg's students have gone on to top competition scores as well as professional gigs of their own.
