We are super excited to announce a pair of new product lines here at Town Center Music: LR Baggs and Tech21/SansAmp!

When we opened this box, every one of our guitar instructors rushed over – it’s like they could smell it, or something. A little weird. Anyway, Tech 21 has spent the better part of the last three decades developing the go-to products for tone-hounds that don’t want to lug around amps, but still insist on audio purity. We’ll let them explain:

tech21The SansAmp technology captures the warm, rich, natural tones of the most sought-after tube amplifiers. Within the parameters of each model’s particular design, the controls provide you with access to specific tone shaping characteristics within the tube amplifier sound spectrum.

SansAmp products are designed to work seamlessly in both recording and stage environments. They can be used with almost any instrument, for any music style, and for multiple applications. Record directly to tape and disc or enhance previously recorded tracks. For live performances, they can drive a power amp and speakers, augment your existing amplifier set-up, or run directly into the mixer of a PA system.

Whether you’re looking for a good low-volume direct signal solution (for small venues, churches, etc) or for some new tonal colors to add to your pallete, Tech21 is worth a good long look. These things are going F-A-S-T, so hurry in.

baggsWhat do artists as diverse as Old Crow Medicine Show, Peter Frampton and Of Monsters And Men have in common? They all trust their acoustic tones to a dude named Lloyd. Lloyd being the “L” in LR Baggs. These geniuses keep finding new and innovative ways to reproduce acoustic tone as purely and truly as possible. Traditional undersaddle pickups, iBeam soundboard film sensors, soundhole magnetics, active DI preamps, and even studio-quality internal mics are just some of the products LR Baggs has brought to market, and with resounding success. Check out their backstory on film here. Have a great acoustic that needs to plug in? Come on in and let us give you a quick overview of what LR Baggs can do for your acoustic sound.

One of the hottest topics of conversation here at the store is effects pedals; what kinds, how to order them on a board, true bypass versus buffers, the list goes on. Town Center Music is partnering with MXR to provide you with the straight skinny on the ins and outs of effects. See what we did there? A pedal has an in… and an out… Right. Anyway, we’ll have informative discussion, info sheets to take home, hands-on demonstrations, and the ever-popular FREE STUFF to give away from MXR – including a raffle for a free limited edition overdrive pedal.Spaces are limited, so call us at 770.831.7936 or email jm@towncentermusic.com to reserve a spot!

seagull02Big news happening at Town Center Music. We’ve picked up two additional lines: Seagull guitars and Zildjian cymbals!

Seagull Guitars – Town Center Music has expanded its’ offering of acoustic & acoustic/electric guitars by becoming a dealer for Seagull guitars. A part of the Godin guitars family, Seagull has been producing quality musical instruments for over twenty years:

In 1982 Robert Godin produced the first Seagull guitars in the Village of LaPatrie, Quebec. The concept for the Seagull guitar was to take the essential components of the best hand-crafted guitars (such as solid tops and beautiful finishes) and build these features into guitars that could be priced within the reach of working musicians (from the Seagull Guitars website).

With prices that start from $359 for solid-top, hand-made quality, Seagull guitars are a fantastic choice for any player.

ZildjianZildjian Cymbals – We’ve also added Zildjian cymbals to our ever-expanding line of percussion offerings. When it comes to cymbals, there is no bigger name than Zildjian.

In 1618, Avedis [Zildjian I] used his secret alloy to create cymbals of spectacular clarity and power. The sound of the instruments was so extraordinary that the Sultan invited Avedis to live at court (Topkapi Palace) to make cymbals for the Sultan’s elite Janissary Bands. As Avedis’ reputation grew, the Sultan gave him the name “Zildjian” in Armenian (Zilciyan in Turkish), a word meaning “son of cymbal maker.” (from the Zildjian website).

With an artist roster that reads like a “who’s who” of percussive luminaries, Zildjian has a centuries-old track record of producing only the highest quality cymbals and accessories that cover every price point.

Being an authorized dealer for these brands enables Town Center Music to provide you with knowledgeable staff and competitive pricing. If you don’t see what you’re looking for, just ask one of us, and we’ll do our best to get it in your hands.

Today we’ve got Corbin King, one of our longest-tenured instructors, telling us a little about himself:
